Photoshop Classes
Adobe’s Photoshop software products are a mainstay of digital photography, and learning how to “tame” those tools is an important part of a digital photographer’s set of skills. Working in a small group or individually can give the student the insight needed to turn creativity into memorable prints.

Get All The Essentials For Making Great Images In Photoshop In My Six-Hour “Introduction to Photoshop” Class.
You can learn the key tools to use Photoshop to make better images in my two-day, hands-on class. You’ll get inside information on sizing, cropping, levels, layers, sharpening, color corrections, and printing, in a comfortable, small-group workshop.
It’s All About Making Your Photographs
The Best They Can Be.
This class is for students who have no or little experience with Photoshop, and are ready to move from printing OK snapshots to making crisp, colorful-accurate, compelling images of their shooting. I provide all the tools: each student works on one computer, with the latest version of Photoshop Elements (v.10) , and gets a workbook to use in the class. You bring your readiness to learn new computer skills. I’ll lead you through the often-confusing process of mastering the key building blocks of Photoshop so you can use that powerful software to improve all your images.
When You Print Your Photos, Do You Get What You Want?
Is this you: you have a good DSLR, you have taken pictures you like when you see them on your review screen, but when you sit at your computer and send the pictures to your printer, they just don’t look the way you want?
You’re not alone! Far too many photographers tell me they are unhappy with the printed images they get from their own printer or from the photo lab where they send their digital files. Images that are too light or too dark, are flat and dull, show colors that weren’t in the shot when taken, or end up soft and uninspired - these are all common complaints.
If you have similar disappointments with any of your prints, it’s time to fix those problems through proper use of Photoshop.
Learning Photoshop From A Book Is Frustrating!
A quick search on the Internet will lead you to lots of frustrated people trying to learn Photoshop by reading a book, or by looking at online videos or canned tutorials. They have the same problem: they just don’t “get” the fundamentals of Photoshop. A live, interactive class with supportive teaching and immediate feedback is the best way to get through Photoshop’s considerable learning curve and on to printing satisfying images.
I Teach What Photographers Need To Know About Photoshop.
I’ve been using Photoshop since Version 5.0, which came out in 1998. I focus my Introduction to Photoshop class on the key techniques that are important to photographers. You won’t learn how to draw freehand in Photoshop in my class, or how to make a Web site. We work on only one thing: making the best prints from your digital images.
I process every one of my images - including the ones you see in the Galleries on this site - through Photoshop, and I improve the impact and presentation of every image that way.
I’ve Been Teaching Adult Learners For Over 20 Years.
As you can see from the Classes section of this site, I work with adult learners in the classroom and in the field. My Photoshop students may be absolute beginners who have never launched the program before or photographers who have struggled with Photoshop for months and encountered the frustration I discussed above.
They all have one thing in common: they take good pictures, but they can’t get the image they see in their artistic mind out onto the print. I helped them get those prints to match their vision.
I only teach in one-on-one sessions and small groups, because I know from 20+ years of working with adult learners that’s how effective teaching works!
My Introduction to Photoshop Class Gives You
The Keys To Better Prints.
During the course of my two-day class, students will:
• learn the key controls and menus in Photoshop Elements 10;
• master the most powerful tools for making global improvements in their images;
• explore the power of Photoshop to remove mistakes and add focus and power to their photos;
• practice using those key tools and techniques on real photos;
• gain understanding of print sizes, image resolution, and appropriate sharpening;
• learn how to avoid losing images and editing work; and,
• have fun!
These are the skills you need to print great images from your shots. You’ve made the investment in your DSLR and in the time it takes to develop a good photographic eye. Now you can add editing and printing mastery to your photography!
Completely Guaranteed.
At the end of the class, if you don’t think I have improved your confidence and skills in using Photoshop, I’ll refund your tuition. Simple as that.
You Get Real Value In My Introduction To Photoshop Class.
If you’ve looked online, you know the price of education is going up everywhere. My goal is to provide real value in my hand-on, personal-attention class. You get all the skills development in six+ hours over two class sessions for the same price as in 2010: only $225.00.
Each Introduction to Photoshop Class Is Limited In Size.
I won’t teach in large groups, and my Introduction to Photoshop class is limited to four students. I’m dedicated to getting every student comfortable with using Photoshop in their photographic workflow, and that just doesn’t happen in larger groups.
The downside to that four-student limit is that not everyone who wants to take my classes gets in - registration is strictly first-come, first- taught! I hate to turn away prospective students, but I won’t sacrifice quality instruction.
Don’t Put It Off - When A Class Is Full, That’s It!
